He could never quite get the trick right

Pulling a rabbit out of a hat

He was only a novice

Practice makes perfect, you always hear

One thing was for sure, he was perfectly in love

With a young lady that came to his weekend shows (He was the opening act)

He would wave his magic wand and puffs of smoke

Card tricks and nothing up my sleeve

She smile and clapped, along with the scattered audience

He didn’t mind, his eyes fixed on her most of the time

On their very first date, him in top hat, tails and all

A stroll through the park, smiles and a little laughter

Now, time for their first kiss

Top hat in hand, a first kiss so grand

He felt something furry graze his hand

“A rabbit!” they said, both stunned and amazed

Love can be truly magical at times
