One of These Tomorrows

“Hope is important because it can make the present moment less difficult to bear. If we believe that tomorrow will be better, we can bear a hardship today.”
Thích Nhất Hạnh, Peace Is Every Step: The Path of Mindfulness in Everyday Life

I bear it all

Lonely hours

Sewing the wounds

From the verbal cuts in my soul

Eyes on a light far away

I sit on the side of the road sometimes

Trying to diffuse the frustration in my mind

Don’t worry, love

I bear it all

Knowing that one of these tomorrows will be better

Think I will write that letter, a keepsake for you

In the beginning of the new

We will sit by the side of the road and read it together

Home sounds sweet to my heart right now

December night and it’s raining out

I bear it all

Tying my shoelaces tight

Still got some walking to do

Last days of the year

God, let them end beautifully

To feel your hand would be most beautiful

Let me smile now

I bear it all

Knowing that one of these tomorrows will be better

Don’t worry, love

I will do what I need to do
