Monday Motivation: Rising Above

I have had to gaurd against letting my heart get hardened by other people’s words and actions. Turning the other cheek is not an easy thing to do at times. What happens when the high road is no better than the low road? Being demeaned and experiencing character assassination is not a good feeling at all. Sometimes it is intentional and at other times it is not. Either way it can have a dramatic affect, to the point of losing yourself because your natural defense mechanism kicks in and you become leery of everyone.

It can be hard, but it can be done. You must be in you! If you know you are not an ass and do not treat people as such, then do not allow someone else’s insecurities to change you. Stand up for you, not with flying fists or arrogance. Stand up for you by demonstrating that you are above the nonsense, above others not being happy with themselves and taking it out on you. You do not have to sit there and take it. Stand up and be you!

I do not consider myself better than anyone or more than anyone. I only consider myself to be me and strive to do my best at being.  People will say and do things that are hurtful and heartbreaking. We are not superhuman and we do feel. Do not allow other’s to steal you away from you. We have to learn to rise above and have the strength to remain there. Stay inspired, stay strong and as many times as you find yourself down, find even many more reasons to get back up!
