Monday Motivation: In Honor (Never Forgotten)

Today is Memorial Day here in the U.S. It is a national holiday in which businesses, schools, government offices are closed.

As I observed the day, I think about the men and women in the armed services. The veterans that are here, those who have past and the soldiers who are serving today, here and abroad.  There are many reasons for war and then there are not, but the focal point is on the courageous who have sacrificed so much in the name of freedom, honor and justice.

Some made it home, some did not. There are those who have lost limbs in battle and those who have lost a piece of their inner being. There are many who have been scorned , criticized and chastised for following orders and carrying out there duty.

As I observed the day, I say thank you to all the men and women who have and are now serving in the armed forces. You are human, you have family and loved ones to care for.  You are standing in the name of pride and service for your country. You are not forgotten. Thank you.

  1. That is a beautiful tribute, Sylvester! Whether war makes sense or not, the ones who (have) served disserve to be recognized for dedicating their lives to the country.

    1. Thank you, Erika! They have been through so much and seen things we can’t begin to imagine. They should never be forgotten, we are all human.
