Monday Motivation: Motives

I question myself at times. I ask myself why do I do what I do?

I’m not out to prove I’m better than anybody or that I know everything there is to know. I only try to share what it is that is inside me, what God has implanted inside me. No one is perfect, this we know. So you do not need to measure up against someone else to prove to yourself you are doing it right.

We can admire, but not fall into the jealously trap or the I need attention syndrome. We need to look at the motive behind why we do things. Self satisfaction only lasts for so long..

* side note: I’m not a licensed, degreed, worldly, highly intellectual professional. I’m just a person giving away what inspires me.

  1. You have no idea how much this resonated with me. We are not defined by our degrees, success or achievement and true happiness lies within realizing it. It looks like you are on your way there! Thank you for sharing what inspires you… It inspires others!

    1. Thank you for your energizing thoughts! We don’t need to outdo anyone or flaunt our pedigree. We only need to bring a level heart and mind to the table.

  2. It is so easy to get on the competing track or to hide what is inside because we think we need to compete and are afraid to fail. But as you say, it is only about to give what we have. That is all it needs and that is a lot! I also believe that nobody needs to be a professional mental care specialist. What we need are people who share their experiences with the humble heart that there is still so much more to experience. Thank you for this wonderful and definitely motivating start into the week, Sylvester!
