Bendita tu luz

Bendita mirada,
Bendita mirada desde el alma, tu mirada,
Bendita, bendita, bendita mirada,
Bendita tu alma y bendita tu luz.
Tu mirada, oh, oh, oh,
Digo es tan bendita tu luz, amor, amor,
Bendito el reloj y bendito el lugar,
Benditos tus besos cerquita del mar,
Y tu mirada, amor, amor,
Que bendita tú mirada, tu mirada amor.

Blessed be your light

Versions: #1#2#3#4
Blessed be the place, and the reason to be there
Blessed be the coincidence,
Blessed be the clock, which took us at that precise moment
Blessed be your presence.
Blessed be God for placing us in each others way
And for taking away this loneliness from my destiny.
Blessed be the light, blessed be your eyes light,
Blessed be the light, blessed be your eyes light,
From your soul.
Blessed be the eyes which avoid me,
Faking that they were ignoring me,
And suddenly, you hold your gaze.
Blessed be God for placing us in each others way
And for taking away this loneliness from my destiny.
Blessed be the light, blessed be your eyes light,
Blessed be the light, blessed be your eyes light,oh
Divine glory which gave me luck,
To find you there in the middle of the way,
Glory to heavens for finding you now,
For taking away my loneliness and for being part of my destiny,
In the same destiny.
Blessed be the light, blessed be your eyes light,
Blessed be the light, blessed be your eyes light,
Blessed be your glance,
Blessed be the light from your soul, your glance,
Blessed, blessed, blessed be the glance,
Blessed be your soul and blessed be your light.
Your glance, oh, oh, oh,
Your light is so blessed, love, love,
Blessed be the clock and blessed be the place
Blessed be your kisses by the sea,
And your glance, love, love,
So blessed your glance, your glance, my love.

“Bendita Tu Luz” (Blessed (is) your light in English) is a bachata song, the second single released from Maná‘s seventh studio album, Amar es Combatir (2006). The song features Juan Luis Guerra on the vocals.
*The music video tells the story of how two college sweethearts met. The young woman begins to gain interest in the young man as she sees him all over campus, and observes how he tries so hard to “impress her” or “tries to get her attention” by his goofy acts like bumping into her “on purpose” or “acting a fool with his friends”. She thinks that’s just his way of trying to get to her. When she sees that he’s making no physical move to ask her out, she decides to be the one to do it instead. However, when she finally has the courage to talk to him she finds out that he’s blind and that all his “stunts” weren’t stunts at all but the real deal. The fact that he is blind doesn’t stop her from still wanting to get to know him. The two soon become good friends and eventually their love blossoms. He shows her how life is for him by wrapping her eyes in a blind-fold; and she lets him get behind her car and drive it. Throughout the video Maná is playing in a small club with Juan Luis Guerra. At the end of the video the happy college couple go to the club and dance while Maná and Juan Luis Guerra sing “Bendita Tu Luz”.
*Maná is a MexicanPop band from Guadalajara, Jalisco.[2] They are known as the U2 of Spanish rock.[3] The group’s current line-up consists of vocalist/guitarist Fher Olvera, drummer Alex “El Animal” González, guitarist Sergio Vallín, and bassist Juan Calleros. Maná has earned four Grammy Awards, eight Latin Grammy Awards, five MTV Video Music Awards Latin America, six Premios Juventud awards, nineteen Billboard Latin Music Awards and fifteen Premios Lo Nuestro awards. It is considered by many as the most influential and successful Latin American band of all time with over 40 million albums sold worldwide.

  1. These lyrics are so beautiful and I love the story that is told in the video. The light of love doesn’t need physical eyes to be seen. It shines from heart to heart. What a beautiful song!

  2. Definitely never heard of these guys but always good to find out about new music.
