Monday Motivation: Thoughts of Dr. King

If a man is called to be a street sweeper, he should sweep streets even as a Michaelangelo painted, or Beethoven composed music or Shakespeare wrote poetry. He should sweep streets so well that all the hosts of heaven and earth will pause to say, ‘Here lived a great street sweeper who did his job well.– Martin Luther King

I look at where I am

And there have been times

I did not like me

I look at the work I do

And there have been times

I felt ashamed of me

One day, God showed me in a reflection

The good work He was working in me

And how very much He does love me, just as I am

One day, God showed me my true reflection

On that day I found the real me again

And have never stopped loving myself since

*

One day perhaps, there will be equality. All the hate and prejudice will be wash away. Humanity will simply love and perhaps, one day, humanity will be whole.

Stay inspired!

  1. It is such an amazing moment to see and feel our light again. Whatever we do, doing it within the shine of our lights makes all magical! Bur most of all we feel magical! It is not about what we do but who while doing anything.

  2. I Love This Brother! WE all have our ‘place’ in this world, and every place is important!

  3. One day, and the sooner the better.

  4. This is an amazing message from Dr. King, it really blows my mind, a truly wise man of outstanding conviction.

  5. Great message by a great man of God! When we learn that our identity is in Christ we learn to start loving ourselves as He loves us and we stop being ashamed of what the enemy is trying to make us ashamed of. Wonderful post as always!!! πŸ™‚
