#MondayThoughts: Confrontation

Having beef with someone is unnecessary and avoidable. Whatever the issue, if not positive, it is an opportunity to cut the excess fat from an unhealthy dietary network. Simply excuse yourself from the table of negativity and lean forward in peace.

As much as we try to avoid negative confrontations, sometimes you have to face them head on. Whether it be people, situations or yourself, confrontations rise up.

You may be pushed into it because of someone’s aggressive nature and no matter how hard you try to be the bearer of peace, that other person is not open to it, only to imposing their will on you. Not going to happen!

Sometimes we find ourselves in a situation where we feel very uncomfortable and we have to confront ourself about how to handle it. You know you have done things for the sake of others and not in your own best interest. Again, trying to be the bearer of peace.

To whatever degree we can we extend the olive branch of peace. Yes, we make sacrifices and compromises, but we do not have to allow ourselves to be steamrolled over and over. The confrontation is not only on the outside but also inside. Trying to decide to step away or face it head on. There is no guilt in standing up for yourself or not doing things just for the sake of appeasing others. In the end it is Your life that You have to live.

  1. That’s a wonderful post. We are nobody’s doormat. We are worthwhile to be appreciated for who we are and we are entitled to step up for ourselves. Happy Monday, Sylvester!
