#MondayThoughts: Stressors

If you really want to escape the things that harass you, what you’re needing is not to be in a different place but to be a different person.

– Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Letters from a Stoic

Life is filled with stressors and they can be laid out like landmines. The question is not knowing if we will react but how we choose to react.

At the workplace, at home, out in the general public, at school, the stressors are all around. They can send us in a tailspin emotionally if triggered. We do our best to maintain our stability but as we know we are all human and as strong as we believe we are, we can be just as vulnerable.

We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.

– David Mamet

Find what helps you best cope with and overcome stress. Prayer, meditation, exercise, music, writing, reading, singing and the countless number of ways to handle stress. Most importantly, pause before you react (if possible) because that small delay might help you from derailing emotionally.

Oh, have a slice of pie, my treat.

#MondayThoughts: Through The Fog

It matters not whether the life is foggy or not as long as your mind’s vision is clear!

Talk about hitting the nail directly on the head! The day to day experiences of life can become so overwhelming at times or they can become so programmed that life can get foggy. Either things get to a point where you can’t see a way out or you become so conditioned to a situation that you are basically living the program.

One of the most important thing in either case is to not lose focus of your vision for what you want to accomplish in your life. I have lived in this intense fog and lived with an intense desperation that would not seem to let up at anytime soon. Each day was filled with stress, concern, worry, etc. I never lost hope and I never stopped praying. Eventually the fog lifted and the days became more brighter. I never lost hope for what I wanted and I never stopped believing the situation would change for the better.

When the fog begins to settles on your life, try to maintain your focus and perspective. The days will feel long and your body, mind and spirit will feel exhausted, but as long as you have unwavering faith, hope and confidence, you will make it through and the fog will be behind you.

The valleys are covered with fog; mountains are covered with fog; everywhere is covered with fog! What to do? Don’t worry, if your mind is not covered with fog, you will find your path! When mind’s vision is clear, you can always see everywhere!

Rock Ballad Of The Week: Stryper “My Love I’ll Always Show”

[Verse 1]
You know, I really love you
Your love is beautiful, lasting and true
I searched for a true love
For such a long, long time
Now my search has ended
Yes, cause you are mine

[Chorus]
I’ll always love you
And I’ll always tell you so
As long as I’m with you
My love, I’ll always show

[Verse 2]
Whenever I’m sad and feeling real blue
I begin to feel happy as I sit and think of you
I think of your face and your personality
You are so beautiful, you mean everything to me

[Chorus]
I’ll always love you
And I’ll always tell you so
As long as I’m with you
My love, I’ll always show

#DiscoDays 1

Thank you to Erika and her HitsByYears music series for the inspiration behind this new music series focusing on the disco era. There were tons of great, cool and fun songs and fashion.

We’ll kick off the series with a song that created one of many dance crazes of that time.
