Rock Ballad of the Week: Southern Sons "You Were There"

I guess you heard, I guess you know
In time I’d have told you, but I guess I’m too slow.
And it’s overly romantic but I know that it’s real
I hope you don’t you mind if I say what I feel.
It’s like I’m in somebody else’s dream,
This could not be happening to me.
[Chorus:]
But you were there, and you were everything I’d never seen.
You woke me up from this long and endless sleep.
I was alone.
I opened my eyes and you were there.
Don’t be alarmed, no don’t be concerned.
I don’t want to change things
Leave them just as they were.
I mean nothing’s really different
It’s me who feel strange.
I’m always lost for words when someone mentions your name.
I know I’ll get over this for sure
I’m not the type who dreams there could be more.
[Chorus:]
But you were there, and you were everything I’d never seen.
You woke me up from this long and endless sleep.
I was alone.
I opened my eyes and you were there.
Can I take your smile home with me,
Or the magic in your hair?
The rain has stopped, the storm has passed
Look at all the colors now the sun’s here at last.
I supposed that you’ll be leaving but I want you to know
Part of you stays with me even after you go.
Like an actor playing someone else’s scene
This could not be happening to me.
But you were there, and you were everything I’d never seen.
You woke me up from this long and empty sleep.
I was alone.
I opened my eyes and no, I’m not alone, I’m not alone.
I opened my eyes and you were there.

#RomanticTuesday: Potpourri (What Your Love Means)

Divine butterfly

Soaring with an angel’s wings

Your sky adores you

*

The ocean

doesn’t come close to your heart

so deep

so vast

so wide

so beautiful

The ocean doesn’t come close…..

*

Your embrace like heaven

Always a fortress of peace

I sink into you

*

Love is God

Love is You

Love is You and I

Love is forever, eternal

Love is us, forever, eternal

*

When I think of you

My heart speaks of the blessing

Of you in my life

*

Wings of Life

Photo by Sergio Ibanez on Unsplash

Angel of Death far off in the distance

I cannot tell if it is serious or grinning

Does death have a sense of humor?

Angel of Life standing by my side

Wings of life embrace me

Perhaps, still, it is not my time

I am far from perfect

I am far from imperfect

Somewhere in between I am a human being

Distant star, put your light in my hands

Walk with me through the night

And I will return your light in the morning

The world changes its appearance constantly

I do not try to adapt but to live authentically

Angel of Life, your wings are comforting

Angel of Death keeps it distance

Just observing…..

Rock Ballad of the Week: John Waite “Every Step of the Way”

I spend my time
Thinkin’ ’bout you constantly
It’s true that I want you
You’re the meaning of success to me
Cause anything you want
You can get from me
Don’t try to work it out
Just let it be
Emotion has no price
And love is free
I’ve been going round in circles
You’re always on my mind
I need you so bad
It’s driving me out of my mind
Reflected in your eyes
Can’t you see
You and I against the world
Young lions roam free
You’re always taking me somewhere
That I’ve neven seen
No matter where you go
I’m with you
Every step of the way
No matter what you need
I’ve got more every single day
My heart is full for you
And I’m longing to find you
Every step of the way
I’m with you
Every step of the way
I’m right beside you
Cause anything you want
You can get from me
Don’t try to work it out
Just let it be
Emotion has no price
And love is free
It’s free and no matter where you go
I’m with you
Every step of the way
No matter what you need
I’ve got more every single day
My heart is full for you
In your shadow you’ll find me
Every step of the way
I’m with you
Every step of the way
I’m right beside you
No matter what you do
No matter what you say
I’m right beside you
Every single day
No matter what you do
Or who you do it to
No matter where you’ve been
No matter what you say
Or who you say it to
No matter what you do
I will stay close to you
Every step of the way
Every single day
Every step of the way
