Lost Confessions

(Excerpted from a recently discovered letter..undated.)

My dearest love,

I can only hope the stars that I chose and sent to you continue to hold their shine. I look at the gaping hole in the night sky and miss the light of you emit in our everyday. I hope this letter finds you well and in good spirits. I myself, am of good liveliness within as thoughts of you carry me through this prolonged separation. The villagers here have been welcoming and generous in kindness. We can only hope that our efforts here are successful and help in the restoration and development of this and surrounding villages. The freedom fighters have long since left.

I know that in each letter I tell you but I cannot let this letter leave my hands without expressing to you how much I miss the presence of your being and the point of peace you represent in my life. I miss our little home and every thing that sits in its proper place there. Upon my return we shall sit close to the fireplace wrapped in a blanket, reacquainting our souls. Always know, my love that there is nowhere that I’d rather be than home with you.

Perhaps this will be my final mission abroad. The spectrum of settling down and living out our days together, grows larger..

Heaven tells a story

Purple majesty commands the stars

Hope is part of the trinity

Staring off into space

My heart bleeds galaxies

God creates glorious things

Thoughts traveling at light speed

Feeling the pulse of the universe

Angels and demons at war

I turn away from the forbidden fruit

I want the stars to remain beautiful

New Release : Soul Embers

soul-embers-cover

I am so humbled and thankful to announce the release of my fourth poetry collection “Soul Embers”.  A project which I started in January of this year and was able to see it to completion. Aside from some of my wordpress poems, I wrote many original pieces never published. Love is the foundation for all that I do and it is the main ingredient to this poetry collection.

It is available at createspace.com  and Amazon ❤

A huge thank you to all of you here for inspiring me to continue my writing journey, create and reach higher than ever.

Love and blessings,

Syl

To The Deepest Depths I Dive

scuba-diver-569333_1280

Diving deep below

The surface of skin and tissue

Beneath the skeletal frame of bones

Deep into the pounding recesses of the heart

Capturing the motion of your life’s flow

Caught in the undertow

The fluctuation of emotions

Tossing me to and fro

Before I settle into a steady current

And follow it into the learning of you

Discovering unending depths of all that makes you beautiful

Signs of Life

Finding a seam within the darkness

He thrusted his single engine towards the gap

It had been years since light was known

He had never stopped in his search for this now mythic like opening

To see light for the first time since the wars ended, brought tears to his eyes

Remembering how the earth was once decorated with the sun’s rays

As he crossed through, he looked back and saw how the nuclear missiles had totally ravaged Mother Earth

Cities, structures, landscapes, totally desolate and barren

That was the last time he would ever look back

His focus was now on finding other survivors, other signs of life

The seam in the darkness slowly closed behind him

4 Line Stories: Change of Dress

Morning sun drapes the sky

In a different hue of wakening light

“I prefer my blue and patches of white” says the sky

“Just wanted to see you in something different” says the sun, shining bright

If you come bearing gifts, I’d would kindly thank you

Who knows? We could share a fish or two

Just in case, I will bring the honey

“I am nothing special, of this I am sure. I am a common man with common thoughts and I’ve led a common life. There are no monuments dedicated to me and my name will soon be forgotten, but I’ve loved another with all my heart and soul, and to me, this has always been enough..”
