#MondayThoughts: Stressors

If you really want to escape the things that harass you, what you’re needing is not to be in a different place but to be a different person.

– Lucius Annaeus Seneca, Letters from a Stoic

Life is filled with stressors and they can be laid out like landmines. The question is not knowing if we will react but how we choose to react.

At the workplace, at home, out in the general public, at school, the stressors are all around. They can send us in a tailspin emotionally if triggered. We do our best to maintain our stability but as we know we are all human and as strong as we believe we are, we can be just as vulnerable.

We must have a pie. Stress cannot exist in the presence of a pie.

– David Mamet

Find what helps you best cope with and overcome stress. Prayer, meditation, exercise, music, writing, reading, singing and the countless number of ways to handle stress. Most importantly, pause before you react (if possible) because that small delay might help you from derailing emotionally.

Oh, have a slice of pie, my treat.

#MondayThoughts: Through The Fog

It matters not whether the life is foggy or not as long as your mind’s vision is clear!

Talk about hitting the nail directly on the head! The day to day experiences of life can become so overwhelming at times or they can become so programmed that life can get foggy. Either things get to a point where you can’t see a way out or you become so conditioned to a situation that you are basically living the program.

One of the most important thing in either case is to not lose focus of your vision for what you want to accomplish in your life. I have lived in this intense fog and lived with an intense desperation that would not seem to let up at anytime soon. Each day was filled with stress, concern, worry, etc. I never lost hope and I never stopped praying. Eventually the fog lifted and the days became more brighter. I never lost hope for what I wanted and I never stopped believing the situation would change for the better.

When the fog begins to settles on your life, try to maintain your focus and perspective. The days will feel long and your body, mind and spirit will feel exhausted, but as long as you have unwavering faith, hope and confidence, you will make it through and the fog will be behind you.

The valleys are covered with fog; mountains are covered with fog; everywhere is covered with fog! What to do? Don’t worry, if your mind is not covered with fog, you will find your path! When mind’s vision is clear, you can always see everywhere!

#MondayThoughts: Pondering

#MondayThoughts: Continue Onward

The journey can be long and along the way it can get heavy sometimes…

Signs and signals appear. There is this feeling inside like someone is nudging you, to get you to see that something is not quite right…..

Hope is always around. It is part of our life force, a constant source of energy. Energy that sustains us on our journey. Energy that empowers our other tools for achieving success….

As long as we continue, we will reach breakthroughs, we will cross borders,we will move mountains and we will realize our dreams. Our journey will be an incredible one.

Stay inspired and keep rising.

#MondayThoughts: Self-Doubt, GET OUT!

I seek strength, not to be greater than others, but to fight my greatest enemy, the doubts within myself

P.C. Cast

I liken self doubt to being in basement and convincing yourself that you don’t belong on the first floor. “Come on, get real, who do you think you are?”, that little annoying voice will say to you. You know what you have to do…IGNORE IT! First of all, do not get caught up into what someone else is doing and accomplishing. Meaning, don’t compare yourself and your progress to others. Be happy for those who are doing well and lift up those who are having a rough go of things.

People can make you feel like you’re not good enough. Not good enough for a job, not good enough for certain events, not good enough to achieve personal goals, not good enough to be in certain relationships. Those people you can turn a deaf ear towards and let them live in their egotistical, puffed up, negative world. Who has time for that shit. I am here to encourage an inspire, not to drag anyone down.

Once you discover your wings, strengthen them by spreading them and attempting to fly. In no time you will go farther and further than you thought possible.

Now, stop putting yourself down. Stop disbelieving in yourself and start believing in you. YOU CAN DO THE MOST AMAZING THINGS WHEN YOU BELIEVE! It’s not about what other people think, it’s not about what circumstances try and have you believe, and it is definitely not about that annoying little voice trying to talk you out of what you want to do. YOU ARE AN AMAZING HUMAN BEING! YOU CAN DO THE MOST AMAZING THING WHEN YOU BELIEVE!

Don’t forget it.

Stay inspired and keep rising.

#MondayThought: Relentless

“It takes just one idea or act to connect the dots between hard work and success… Don’t relent until you find it”

These four words should be on auto play each time you are faced with a moment of discouragement, when the world seems still and silent. There will be times when things are falling in line just as you hoped and working towards. Then there are the moments that test you,  the moments that question your seriousness about what you are working towards. In these moments you can feel disappointment, discouraged and doubtful (the three Ds).

To get to where we want or desire to be, we must be relentless in our efforts. We can plan and strategize, then put this into action. When the three Ds present themselves, we must be relentless in our hope, faith and courage.  It can be hard to maintain sometimes because as I said, there will be moments when the world will appear to come to a standstill as you are waiting for the next course of action. As long as you are making an effort, everything will come together in alignment with your efforts.

#MondayThoughts: Encouraged Over Discouraged

Sometimes it feels like life has buried us in the dirt, when in reality we’ve been planted with an opportunity to grow.

– Tina Hallis

Life is filled with wonder, amazement, exciting and beautiful things and experiences. It is also splashed with hardships, unevenness, confusion and discouragement. We all seek to live out the best life possible while we are here. There are times when everything seems to be going great and smooth, you feel on top of things, on top of the world.

In our pursuing of living a joyful, decent and good life, we are bound to get tripped up by something that discourages us and practically throws us off balance. Whether it be personally, professionally or deep inside our soul, there are things we experience which make us question ourselves, our direction, hopes, faith, beliefs and convictions.

When that happens, what do you do? Give up? Crawl under the nearest rock? Stay in bed under the sheets? I emphatically say NO to all of these and other negative reactions! We can accept that life is not always great, You might not always be upbeat, positive and happy. Heck, you might not even see the brighter side of what you are going through and experiencing.

When we choose to stay down, we are in reality confusing wisdom with cowardice. When we choose to stand back up, we are using wisdom to overcome cowardice.

– Craig D. Lounsbrough

I have faced some very tough and gut wrenching times in my life. I have had moments of feeling isolated and broken.

I did not give up. No, I did not give up.

I believe with all my being that despite how discouraging it can be in the moment or how hopeless a situation might appear, there is a definite brighter outcome if we choose to stay encouraged and press on through. I’m not saying it is easy to do so and in fact may be darn right intimidating but it is doable. Just as it is possible to hold on to discouragement, it also possible to grasp encouragement and hold it tight to the chest, letting in that seed that all is possible.

Believe it and receive it. Act on it. You are the seed from which countless, beautiful things will grow. Let encouragement outweigh discouragement.

Stay inspired and keep rising.
