#MondayThoughts – Confidence Begins Within

Because one believes in oneself, one doesn’t try to convince others. Because one is content with oneself, one doesn’t need others’ approval. Because one accepts oneself, the whole world accepts him or her.

  1. It’s ideal to not need validation from others but I think there’s a deep human need to feel accepted. I’m guilty of feeling discouraged as a blogger especially if my posts aren’t liked or I get trolled for writing about controversial topics but I’d like to ultimately care only about if God approves of me and what I choose to write or do. It’s an ego struggleβ€”wanting everyone’s approval, but the path to God is narrow, it’s sometimes a very lonely path but worthwhile in the end.

    1. You’re right, it’s human nature to want/need validation or acceptance. I think that’s why it’s so important to accept and appreciate ourselves and what we have to offer.. God created us blessed us with gifts and talents to glorify Him and not please the world. You know I have always appreciated your posts from the beginning because of your openness and honesty about your life and your perspective on life. Our walk with God was not promised to be an easy one… John 16:33 β€œI have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
When I look at the number of followers I have here on WP and then look at the number of people who like my posts I laugh sometimes and that puts it all into perspective. If you can reach one person with your posts regardless of content (controversial or not) then you have planted a seed. We can only hope our seeds fall on solid ground. The path to destruction is broad and wide and the path to salvation is straight narrow, this is our path, my friend and God is always with us πŸ’œβœοΈπŸ€—

      1. So true my friend! I love the bible verse you shared very much, I sometimes think the Christian path is a lonely one and I’ve added controversy into the equation so I feel an an oddball these days! But it’s ok, it’s brought me closer to my family to rejoin my childhood faith and it’s also a good filter for gauging my true friends. You are one of them, SylvesterπŸ’–! I appreciate your kindness and wisdom πŸ™‚βœοΈπŸŒ·

      2. The Christian path is not an easy one and sometimes we do feel like we’re alone in the battle. I’m very glad you are closer to your family and faith.. God works on us daily chipping away the world’s influence on us and bringing us closer to Him. I’m very honored and thankful you consider me a true friend and I’m always around give you a lift if needed πŸ’–! You are appreciated too πŸ™‚βœοΈπŸŒ·
