I wrote her a love note
Afraid of rejection, I didn’t give it to her
Finally, I burned it
Little did I know
She read the dead letters in the ashes
I got a love letter in the mail today

I really like this. Simple yet says so much. Simplicity in a complicated way.
Give it a read and show him some support and encouragement.

A complicated poem does not necessarily make a greater poem. And you’ve certainly proven that! Thank you for sharing this piece with us.

My writing style is one of simplicity. I try to write poems that are you can relate to. I like to have fun with the words. Thank you for your feedback. I appreciate it.

I felt vulnerability in your words, which we all experience when we’re unsure of our love being reciprocated. But, in so few words you expressed so much and ended with hope, which is the best ending…I enjoyed this very much.

Thank you Lauren. This was inspired by my shyness as I was growing up. In high school there was a girl I like and I wrote her a poem but never gave it to her, but I wanted this poem to end on a happy note.

Is there anything more hopeless than an unsent letter? This is a beautiful poem

The one letter never sent could be the one you regret never putting in the mailbox.
